Innovations by the Faculty in Teaching and Learning    

The faculty of ECE department attends various MOOCS and training programs on advanced topics, updates their knowledge and skills, and gives additional inputs in the classes.
Further, the faculty conducts various innovative teaching and learning activities inside and outside the classrooms to engage the students effectively and efficiently.
The teaching and learning activities conducted by the faculty for the improvement of student learning includes (but not limited to):

  • Conduction of classroom quizzes, role play, assignments, group discussions, pick and speak, seminars, social awareness event and programmes etc.
  • Assignments which include mini-projects, and case studies.
  • Usage of Google forms and Google Classroom for online interaction, assessment, and evaluation. Google classrooms for posting assignments and lecture materials.
  • Teaching with working models, simulations, emulations and animated videos, skill developments, kit design and development, multimedia tools
  • Teaching with concept maps, model demo, charts etc.
  • Usage of ICT, blended learning and Smart ICT Enabled Classroom, Power point presentation, Demonstration of recorded Videos and Lectures
  • Development of Recorded Topic/ Subject based video, YouTube videos
  • NPTEL/ SWAYAM Video and Content Repository, use of E Library and E-books, DELNET etc.

Innovations by the Faculty in Laboratory

  • Special materials and lab manuals are provided to the students for the relevant labs.
  • All labs are equipped with detailed Methodical Chart And Monograms or relevant topics prepared by faculties; they have proven to be very helpful to the students.

COE and Research Laboratories beyond Syllabus:  

  • The department is equipped with many beyond curriculum labs, Special emphasis is given to the project work by the faculties for the students, 21 patents have been filed and published by the faculties and students.
  • Existing experimental set-up are modified wherever necessary for benefitting the students to perform advance experiments.

Innovation in the recent technology with hand on experience: -

  • Advance VLSI training and Embedded system training cum workshop module has been created for the students to learn semicustom design using FPGA-SPARTAN III, Altera Cyclone and ALTRA MAX II CPLD Kits for their better understanding of the logic development.
  • For Embedded system design Lab different microcontrollers, for example 8051 and Arduino has been included.
  • Addons and Certification program related to:
    • Python
    • Data Science
    • IOT and Application
    • Robotics and Development
    • Skill Development

Pedagogical Activity and Evaluation:

Apart from Assignments and quiz, in each semester faculty members adopt any two of recommended Innovative Pedagogical Approaches & Evaluation Activity for crucial topics/ contents as per the feedback received from the stakeholders/ assessments (Ref. UGC- Guidelines for Innovative Pedagogical Approaches & Evaluation Reforms). The following Activities have been completed for each course:

  • Two Quizzes
  • Two Assignment
  • Two Pedagogical Innovative Pedagogical Approach delivered for the crucial topic/ Content Activity


After completion of the activity the concern faculty submit the final report of their activity which covers:

  1. Statement of clear goals
  2. Approval of Adequate preparation
  3. Type of Appropriate method used
  4. Significance of results
  5. Reflective Critics
  6. Presentation of effectiveness comments.

The feedback and peer critics are also completed in parallel with the execution of the Innovative Pedagogical Approaches. The work is reproducible and developed with the collaboration of scholars.

The department has many models created by students and has been displayed in the Centre of Excellence, Research Laboratories and Curriculum specific Laboratories. These prototype models help the students to understand the working of basics and recent technologies in a better manner.
