The Department of Basic Science and Humanities offers core courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Communicative English and Human values and professional ethics to B. Tech 1st year students. The department has well equipped laboratories to impart practical training to the students in the field of Physics, Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Computer graphics. Two separate Communicative English labs are set up (Well equipped softwares). The purpose of the Communicative English lab is to enhance the communication skills of students as well as preparing them for future perspectives.
