Education in the fourth industrial revolution

How engineering colleges prepare students for the industrial revolution?

With the advent of time, people believe that we are now in the early stages of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This era combines digital, physical and biological systems in a completely unique way. Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics are changing the way that we live and work. In addition, the rapid pace of change is disrupting almost every industry in every country.

The technological advancements are increasing productivity. It has concern over job losses due to automation. However, the opportunities appear endless for school leavers equipped with the correct skills. But most of the Engineering Colleges face the challenge of how to prepare them well.

Role of intelligence automation in education

Intelligent automation expects to boost the importance of both education related to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and soft skills. It allows students of B Tech Colleges to trade on their uniquely human capabilities. However, the highest-scoring countries prepare future workers through school curriculum like teacher training.

What are the skills that employers seek?

An individual usually had a fear of new technology. The risk factor they are dealing with is on a grand economic; political and social level. Experts believe that the pace of change is creating opportunities.

The possibilities of billions of people connected by mobile devices, with uncommon processing power, storage capacity, and access to knowledge, are unlimited. And these possibilities will be multiplied by emerging technology breakthroughs in certain fields. It includes artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of Things, autonomous vehicles, 3-D printing, nanotechnology, biotechnology, materials science, energy storage, and quantum computing.

How automation rule the engineering industry?

Most importantly, high-tech landscapes with automation are replacing low-skilled jobs. It is the demand for human skills that is exceeding supply. Research has been conducted by the experts of Engineering Colleges in Rajasthan. It shows that across nine industries in 15 of the world’s largest economies are discovering how technological advancements are likely to change the job market.

The executives do not desire STEM and digital skills. Instead, the premium places on creativity-based skills like critical thinking and collaboration. It seems that technological advances are making human skills more important than ever.

In the world of work, high value is given to the non-cognitive, character skills that a person has. With the knowledge that Artificial Intelligence is fast-developing, students of Private Engineering Colleges will increasingly need to demonstrate the skills that robots do not have.
