MTech Admission Process 2020

Among all the technical courses, MTech has its own popularity and relevance. Many students who have passed BTech look for MTech admission 2020 despite taking up a job. One of the major benefits of taking up the MTech course is the higher scope for Public Sector Undertaking jobs. And also, other relevant government jobs. There is a wide range of specializations in the MTech courses. Therefore, students of top engineering colleges must choose the relevant specialization to his/ her qualification in BTech.

List of MTech Entrance Exams 2020

Before going through the admission process, the candidates advised to check the list of entrance exams for MTech admission 2020. Therefore, under given are some national-level and state-level entrance exams for the MTech course. Some of them include GATE, UPSEE, AP PGECET, TS PGECET, Karnataka PGCET, TANCET, OJEE, etc.

Minimum qualification required for MTech

Admission to the course of Master of Technology Course opened to the candidates that possess not less than 55% and 50% in case of SC/ST in qualifying examinations under following categories:

  • The candidates who have passed BE or BTech Examinations of RTU or any other recognized University or any other examinations recognized as Equivalent by the competent authority.
  • Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies mainly recognized by MHRD, UGC, AIU, UPSC, and AICTE as equivalent to B.E. or BTech.
  • Candidates who have M.Sc., MCA, and are seeking admission to certain MTech. Programs should posses’ valid and qualified GATE score of the relevant branch.

The equivalency of any degree for admission to any program will be decided by authorized University. The eligibility criterion in this course is less and mere possessing the same does not qualify the eligibility for admissions.

MTech application form 2020

Candidates who aspire for admission in MTech in various engineering colleges across the country should fill the application form as per the guidelines of the respective institute, college, or university. So, the GATE score widely accepted for MTech admission in all the states or colleges across the country.

MTech application form through GATE Score

Candidates who wish to seek admission through the GATE score must submit a separate application for different engineering colleges individually. Also register for a centralized counseling process for MTech admission in various states. There are certain examinations that provide more ideas about MTech application form submission through the GATE score.

  • Example 1 – Candidates who wish to get admission in the MTech course offered by various colleges can register for the same through the GATE score. Even though some examinations like TANCET state-level exams, but the GATE score also accepted for the same. All that the candidates need to do is just register for the counseling process. While registering for the same, the candidates need to fill their GATE Roll Number and score.
  • Example 2 – Candidates who wish to get admission in the MTech course in states like Karnataka can do the same with the help of the GATE score. Even though Karnataka PGCET the state-level entrance exam for MTech admission, GATE score also accepted for the admission in various government and private engineering colleges across the state.
  • Example 3 – If the candidates wish to apply for MTech admission in Best Private Engineering Colleges, he/ she can individually submit the application form either through the official website of the college or by obtaining the application form from the college admission office.
  • Example 4 – If students of BTech colleges are looking for hassle-free form filling for MTech admission in private engineering colleges, they can fill the Common Application Form and their counseling team will help them with the form filling and other admission formalities.

MTech Admission Process 2020

The admission process for the MTech courses is not the same across all the states and colleges. If the candidates want to get admission in top engineering colleges in India, he/she will have to follow a particular process. The admissions in premier institutes are purely based on merit. Marks or ranks scored by the candidates in the GATE exam or BTech Percentage.

MTech Admission in Private colleges

If students of private engineering colleges want to get admission in the MTech course offered, they will have to appear for the entrance exam. Entrance exam conducted by the respective university or they can also apply through the GATE score. These universities or colleges also grant admission without the entrance exam requirement.  Candidates will just have to submit the application form.

Direct Admission in MTech

Candidates without a valid score in GATE or state-level entrance exams need not worry as he/ she can get direct admission in MTech course. The candidates can apply for admission in top private engineering colleges directly by just filling the application form through the official website of the college or by visiting the college individually. The admission will be granted on the basis of BTech marks and availability of seats.
