Which BTech Course is Better for Career - Electrical or Electronics?

Electrical Vs Electronics - Which is Better for Career?

The electrical and electronics engineering branch is based on sciences and mathematics. These subjects help to obtain both a qualitative and quantitative description of how electrical and electronics systems will work. If an individual enjoys these subjects, then they will find a fascinating and rewarding field of study with many opportunities to solve certain engineering problems.

If engineering aspirants are willing to learn how things work, or if they were the kid always taking their parents appliances apart and trying to put them back together again, then this is the right field.

Importance of electrical and electronics engineering

Our life world be unthinkable without the use of electrical energy. The growing utilization of the electrical energy is prerequisite for a rapid development of both industry and agriculture. So, nowadays, the progress of the country,  measured in terms of electrical energy generating capacity of that country.

As per the understanding of electrical energy for sustainable evolving society, the students of electrical and electronics engineering at BTech Colleges India will learn the fundamental knowledge and technologies of generation, control, transmission, communications and energy. Also, it helps you to acquire fundamental knowledge and techniques one the semi-conductor devices analogue circuits and interdisciplinary applications. So, the students trained in this course will take an important role as researchers and engineers in different industrial fields. Fields including environment and energy, electrical and electronics, machine and mechatronics, communication materials and nanotechnology, medical care, primary and tertiary industries.

Course & Duration

Electrical and electronics engineering is a fast growing and most popular engineering field. The duration of this course in BTech Colleges in India is four to five years. After completing UG degree, the students designated as the Bachelor of Technology or BTech. A bachelor degree usually covers mathematics, physics, and computer science and project management

There are so many specializations in BTech electrical and electronics course to choose in higher degrees after completion of bachelor degree. An individual can choose the same degree, once they have completed their 10 or 10+2 examination with mathematics and physics.

The academic criterion of Electrical and Electronics course, divided into four courses/programmes including the following:

  • Diploma courses – It leads to the polytechnic diploma of 3 years duration. (after 10th or 12th)
  • UG courses – It leads to the BTech (Bachelor of Technology) degree of 4 years duration. (after 12th)
  • PG courses – It leads to the MTech (Master of Technology) degree of 2 years duration. (after graduation)
  • Doctoral courses – It leads to the PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) degree of ½ – 1 years duration (after post-graduation)

Engineering Eligibility Criteria

Both the courses belong to the discipline of engineering. Also, allows the candidates to pursue either of the programmes must belong to the science background. It is commonly known across India that to take admission to any of the engineering programmes, an aspirant will need to sit for an entrance test. Test like the Joint Entrance Examination or any equivalent common entrance test. The candidates who wish to pursue a Master’s programme in either Electrical Engineering or Electronics engineering, they will be required to sit for an entrance test meant for postgraduate admissions like Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE). The admission into any one of the programmes will be based on the performance of the candidate of best engineering colleges in the qualifying examinations along with the score or the marks achieved in the common entrance tests for admission.

Selection Process

Once the candidates meet the eligibility criteria for the engineering program and college that they wish to join, the candidates will be required to sit through the admission process. The general admission process at the undergraduate level requires the candidates to appear for a counselling round. In this, the candidates will be allotted the course, seat and sometimes the engineering colleges or universities as well. Depending on the rank of an individual, the candidates will be allotted the seat, course and the college. Therefore, it is significant that the candidate should obtain a good rank in the entrance test that is required for admission.

However, at the postgraduate level, the candidates will be asked to sit for an entrance test. Also, personal interview and/or a group discussion according to an individual college. The combined performance of the candidate in these tests will guarantee the admission of an engineering aspirant into one of the engineering courses like electrical engineering or electronics engineering.

Future scope

The future prospects of best electrical and electronics engineering college graduates are very wide and bright. So, the demand for more sophisticated electrical and electronic devices, environmentally friendly power generation. And cheaper and smarter products suggest lots of work for electrical engineers. The areas they can fit-in include automation, manufacturing, design and development, operation and control of any products or equipment’s which work on electricity.

Graduates of electrical and electronics engineering colleges in India can work in different fields. Work field as instrumentation engineering, power engineering, communication engineering, computer engineering and media. So, the graduates from this discipline can pursue higher education in government colleges, deemed university or Private Engineering Colleges in Rajasthan. They offering specialized course for the aspirants across the globe.

Conclusion

Nobody can den from the fact that electronics have become a part of our everyday life. ECE field shows no signs of slowing down in the near future. This is an opportunity for the aspiring ECE graduates. As it opens up endless opportunities for them in top-notch manufacturing and IT industries. The only thing that an individual need to do is to select the right place to study Electronics and electrical engineering courses. It will determine their belief in the mainstream electronics and communication sectors.
