Information Technology is a set of tools, processes, and methodologies such as Coding/ Programming, Data Communications, Data Conversion, Storage, and Retrieval, System Analysis and Design, System Control, and associated equipment employed to Collect, Process and present information.
There is diversity in IT sector in various job opportunities like Database Administration, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Software Development, IT Security, Networking, System Analysis and Project Management. IT is now becoming a very important sector in itself as it has lots of job opportunities and also because it will take pace with more improvement in technology.

Data Administrator – They are responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database. They make sure that the work of database is done properly like data is clearly defined, data remains consistent across the database and users are able to access data in whichever it is suitable to them.
Web Developers – They handle the task of creating web pages and web applications which also include collection of good content for a website whether it is copy, audio, photos, videos and others.
Graphic Designer – They design company logos, layouts for newsletters, banners, catalogs, creating package design for products and coming up with effective marketing materials.
For Information Technology, education requirements are bachelor’s degree in system analyst or Associate’s degree in programmer. In order to do BE/BTech in Information Technology, a student has to have at least 50 to 60 % marks in twelfth board examination. After that entrance examinations like IITJEE and AIEEE are held and students can take admission in best Engineering colleges with the marks of these in entrance examinations. Some of the famous Engineering colleges also held their personal examination at their level. Students can also do a diploma in polytechnic and then, do further education in Information Technology without attending eleventh and twelfth class.
Many a times, some colleges also offer scholarship for students who cannot afford any good college’s fees. Such bright students have to fight separate examination for scholarship facility too. One can also go for post graduate program only if he/she has a graduate degree in BE/BTech from a reputed college. If one has interest in Computer Science Engineering and wants to grasp knowledge as much as possible and also get the highest position in society then, one can even do PhD in further studies.

Responsibilities may include establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security, monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front end users. They may have to work closely with IT project managers, database programmers and multimedia programmers. Their responsibilities may also include controlling access permissions and privileges and also communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff, to ensure database integrity and security.
